The Great Cookie Debate: Crispy vs. Chewy

I love chewy chocolate chip cookies. However, my mother loves her cookies crispy. Not burnt–just crunchy. This time of year she is busy whipping up dozens of batches of cookies she wouldn’t dare eat herself. Not because they don’t taste great, but because most people prefer traditional chewy cookies (particularly oatmeal and chocolate chip), which she’ll bake but won’t eat. Yummy Butterscotch Chip Cookies

My husband baked us some cookies last night. The fact that he wanted to make home-made cookies was a shock to me, but he wanted those cookies so badly that we made an impromptu shop at the grocery store just to get butterscotch chips. He used a good Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe, but instead of using the chocolate chips, he used butterscotch chips. And boy are those cookies good!
