Well, You Just Never Know: A Few Good Men

I was on the treadmill tonight (yes, a miracle I know) when a commercial came on television. Normally, this would be the time to flip over to my alternate channel, you know, the one I visit so I don’t have to watch commercials. Berkeley vs. the Marines

I don’t know if you noticed the story, but there seems to be a war going on in California – with city of Berkeley vs. the Marines. I will try to not write this with a slanted bias (my husband is a Marine). It appears that the community of Berkeley is against the war, and therefore, they are against having a Marine recruiting center in their town. There have been people protesting outside the Marine recruiting center on Shattuck Avenue. Things I See Living in a Military Town

I went to the New River Marine Corps Air Station. It was just a normal visit to get groceries at the Commissary. Since the North Carolina heat made it feel like it was about 1,000 degrees outside, I stopped by the Wendy’s in the shopping center next to the Commissary. I noticed two new Marines – Geiger Tigers as they are sometimes called getting out of a cab. Camp Geiger is one of the first stops for many Marines after they graduate from Marine Corps boot camp. I apologize for the dorky title, but since I am new to the military blog, I thought I might tell you a little about myself. I am an older military wife. I met my wonderful Marine husband when I was 32 years old and we married when I was 37. I grew up with a few military members in my family.
