In case you haven’t heard, Porter Wagoner died Monday not long after the news that he was suffering from lung cancer was released. Dolly Parton announced earlier this week that she was able to sing for Porter and prayed with him during a visit. “It felt good that I had the opportunity to say goodbye properly,” she said. Wagoner has Lung Cancer and Kid Rock Arrested…Again

It was revealed today that country legend Porter Wagoner has lung cancer. I had blogged a couple of days ago that he was in a Nashville hospital in serious condition, but his publicist has not said why he was hospitalized. He did get a visit from his country music protégé Dolly Parton earlier this week. Dolly and Porter have had an on again off again relationship since he took her under his wing in 1967. Porter’s Ailing, John’s Left Rehab, and McGinley to be a Dad Again

County legend Porter Wagoner has been hospitalized in serious condition for an undisclosed illness. His publicist, Darlene Bieber, said the 80-year-old Wagoner is asking for prayers from friends and fans. The country star had marked his 50th anniversary with the Grand Ole Opry in May of this year. He was previously hospitalized in July 2006 with a stomach aneurism. Porter is probably best known for his trademark rhinestone suits and for helping a then unknown Dolly Parton get her career started in 1967.
