The Backyardigans

“The Backyardigans” is a show that I haven’t been able to get into myself, but my nephew and daughter seem to love it. Even though I am a big fan of music and musicals, I can’t bring myself to watch it. What does that have to do with anything? Well, “The Backyardigans” is a show that is done with a lot of music. My Wife is Great (Duh!)

The stuff she comes up with…. She works really hard at bringing our oldest’s visions to life, be those visions recipes, stories, images, or birthday parties. Since she was two, we have always done a puppet show, which is normally my responsibility. We’ve used hand-puppets and stick puppets, based on whatever is available. Review: The Backyardigans

Surf’s Up, ho, daddy! So sing the latest kiddie sensations: five CGI cartoon animals who seem to live in a very fantasmical suburbia where their imaginations are allowed to roam. And the word is: COOL! The characters — Pablo, a beany-wearing penguin, who is, as creator Janice Burgess puts it, wound up a little too tight, Uniqua, a bold and confident adventure-seeking bug (at least I think she’s a bug), Tyrone, a fun-loving moose, Austin, a laid-back Kangaroo, and Tasha, a princess-y Hippo — evidently are neighboring preschoolers who use their imaginations to transform their collective backyards into fascinating adventures. … Continue reading
