Is Your Conscience Helping or Hurting Your Parenting?

I have to admit that sometimes in the world of parenting my conscience can be a bit help—it spurs me on to do the right thing and helps guide me in making decent decisions on behalf of my children. Other times, however, my conscience can eat me alive! Oh, that guilt that tends to come from someplace outside myself and settles in to make me feel horrible! We Can Choose What we Believe

One of the statements my children used to make that bothered me to know end was “I couldn’t help it!” The implication being that they just had no control over what they did or said and that they were victims of whatever actions or statements came out of their mouths. Are You Secure Enough to Change Your Mind?

I am not the same parent I was nearly twenty years ago when I started out on this path. As a matter of fact, I am not the same parent or the same person I was even two or three years ago. I have been amazed how it doesn’t seem to matter how many “business books” and articles I read, or how many lists and skills I apply to my work–my belief systems around money and work are what REALLY influence and affect how I am able to progress with my small business. Taking time out to examine (and re-examine) my … Continue reading

Do you and your spouse share the same religion? While it may not seem important to some people, to others the sharing and mingling of faith and belief is paramount to the success of a marriage. That is not to suggest that marriages that mix faith do not survive, in fact, quite the opposite. There are many examples of mixed faith relationships that do quite well and the couple flourishes. But it takes a strong sense of self and a strong sense of respect for the beliefs of others for such a relationship to not be impacted by worshipping separately. … Continue reading
