Dear Heather … A Question

A reader asked the following question on my blog Coach Mom: Making Up Your Game Plan and I thought I’d put it up front so I could answer it. The question is from Families.com member Tckteacher: A question rather than a comment. Our days of homeschooling our own children are long over, but I now find myself in a position of schooling a 3rd grade child overseas in a situation where there few available resources and no community sports activities for her to join other than dance – which she is involved in. I am trying as her teacher to … Continue reading

Q is for Questions

Fitness questions are something we all have, whether you are asking about how to do an exercise or how to get into shape or how many exercises to do. Questions are a great way to teach and to learn. How else do you figure out what to do and when to do it? How else do you get the information you need? You ask questions or you listen as someone else answers a question that you may not have thought to ask. Who Best to Ask the Questions To? Dear Heather … Exercise & Addiction

Dear Heather, My son has struggled with drug use over the last two years and while we have tried to get him into rehabilitation programs before and more to help him to quit, we’ve not been successful. Recently after running away and getting hooked again, he came home and said that he’s done with drugs for good. He’s been exercising regularly, running four and five miles a day. Can you help? – Diane Dear Diane, Back fat. It’s an insidious and awful enemy for most women and it’s also one of the … Continue reading

Dear Heather, Do You Trust the Calorie Counter?

Good morning, welcome to our third edition of Dear Heather and this week, we’ve got three good questions to discuss. I’m not sure if we’ll be featuring Dear Heather next week, though we’ll let next week take care of itself when it gets here. In the meanwhile, it’s December 21st and we have just 4 shopping days left till Christmas – including today – so I’ll try not to keep you here too long if you’ve got places to be. Do Calorie Counters Work? Dear Heather, I’ve been trying to get my workout in regularly and I have a gym … Continue reading
