Printing and Framing your Family Tree

A lot of work goes into a finished family tree. There is a lot of time and research that goes into any family tree. Some people spend years completing a family tree. Many people spend months on their project. With a project of this magnitude, it is understandable that many families would want to print and frame their family tree. A beautifully printed family tree that is matted and framed is a great family heirloom. It can be displayed proudly by grandparents in their home and passed down to their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. There are many ways to … Continue reading

Easy Last-Minute Valentine Projects

My superstitious friend was so focused on the fact that Friday the 13th is two days away that she completely forgot that Saturday is Valentine’s Day. Fortunately, she is married to one of the most laid-back guys around, and I doubt that he would have raised an eyebrow had she overlooked the holiday. If you too suddenly realized that Love Day is just three days away, then you might consider making the following homemade Valentine’s Day crafts. Not only are they inexpensive and simple to create, but they’ll also be appreciated by just about any Valentine from grandparents and spouses … Continue reading

Fall Fun for Kids: Acorn Art Projects

If it weren’t for Disney’s Chip and Dale I doubt my preschooler would know that chipmunks actually like acorns. As far as she is concerned, the tiny rodent-like creatures only have eyes for the stale bread she throws at them whenever we are at the park. As for the acorns that are strewn all over the grassy areas leading up to the playground, they go straight into my daughter’s pockets and come home with us. When we get home we put her acorn collection to good use by making the following projects: ACORN WREATH Materials: Acorns Wreath Form Hot glue … Continue reading

Drawbacks of Digital Photo Frames

In a previous blog I discussed the latest report on Kodak’s EasyShare EX1011 digital photo frame. While some testers rated the device as one of the best on the market others pointed out some obvious drawbacks to this particular model. For example, while the frame has a built-in Wi-Fi transmitter to connect with your home wireless network, making it unnecessary to string a USB cord for access to photos from your PC (a definite pro) or the Kodak Gallery, you cannot access photos from other photo-sharing sites, such as Flickr. Another complaint lodged by testers, which is common among wireless-enabled … Continue reading

Have you joined the millions of other photo fans who have invested in a digital photo frame? As I mentioned in my previous blog they are one of the hottest items you can give mom for Mother’s Day. And unlike in years past, these days you can get digital photo frames in a variety of sizes, colors, styles, and at varying price points. The evolution of digital photo frames includes the introduction of touch screens, iPod docking stations and WiFi integration, all of which I discussed in previous blogs. Other Things You Need to Know Before You Buy a Digital Photo Frame for Mother’s Day

In my previous blog I mentioned that digital photo frames are the hot ticket item this Mother’s Day. In that post I also discussed sizes, price points, and provided a list of the top sellers. However, there are a few more points your should be aware of prior to presenting one of these picture perfect gifts to the favorite women in your life. TOUCH CONTROLS Designers at Kodak say in an effort to do away with remote controls with barely-there buttons they created the “Quick Touch Border” and added it to two frames (so far). Kodak sells its 8-inch, EasyShare … Continue reading

What You Need to Know Before You Buy a Digital Photo Frame for Mother’s Day

According to the cashier at my local Kohl’s department store, digital photo frames are the hottest buy this Mother’s Day. (The woman in front of me in line was purchasing one for her mom hence the info from the store employee.) I believe it. In fact, I wasn’t at all surprised by the claim given that just this past Sunday Circuit City held digital photo frame demonstrations at its stores nationwide. And it’s not just Mother’s Day. People are snatching them up to give as graduation gifts, for Father’s Day, birthdays and as wedding presents. So what do you need … Continue reading

More Matting Tips

In my previous blog I touted the benefits of framing your prize-winning photos and working with mats to help your images take on a professional quality. I mentioned that there are three basic tips you should keep in mind prior to choosing the perfect mat for your frame: color, quality and size. In this blog I’d like to spend more time going in-depth about the color of your mat. Different color mats can alter the look of your image in a variety of ways. For example, dark mats pop on light walls, and light mats pop on dark walls. Also, … Continue reading
