Book Review: Layout Blueprints

Book Review: Layout Blueprints As scrapbookers, we are usually looking for ways to simplify our scrapbooking process. A new book, Layout Blueprints, is an excellent source of ideas for scrapbookers who are looking for ways to make scrapbooking a little easier. Layout Blueprints is an idea book full of sketches and example layouts based on those sketches. A scrapbook sketch is a simple drawing that shows the basic placement of photos, cardstock, patterned paper and embellishments. One of my favorite things about sketches is that they give you a starting point for your layout. Sometimes when I use a sketch, … Continue reading

Book Review: Clean and Simple Scrapbooking

When I borrowed a copy of Clean and Simple Scrapbooking by Cathy Zielske I thought that it was going to be just a book with layouts from Cathy. Each chapter is full of Cathy’s layouts and text explaining that chapter’s topic. In chapter one, the author shares her insights on simple scrapbooking. Not only does she create simple, clean pages, she also keeps things simple by only photographing photos … Continue reading

Book Review: Scrapbooking with Lisa Bearnson 2

As scrapbookers, we are always looking for new sources of inspiration. I recently picked up Scrapbooking with Lisa Bearnson Book 2 hoping to find some fresh ideas and more motivation to keep working on my scrapbooks. I like the way the book is organized by seasons. There are tabs dividing the sections into Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, and Idea Gallery. This organization works well when looking for ideas because the colors and themes we tend to scrapbook usually fit into seasonal categories such as snow pictures in the winter and beach pictures in the summer. The layouts are by Lisa … Continue reading
