What Will You Name Your Baby?

One of the most difficult things that you may do while you are pregnant is to decide on a name for your baby. Of course, the decision does not usually happen during one short conversation. Naming your baby may take weeks if not months of thinking, negotiating, and pondering. Sometimes, a name might just come out during a conversation and either one or both of you will say, “That’s it! That’s the one.” That is what happened when my husband and I were naming our first son. I knew that I really wanted my father’s name (James) as the baby’s … Continue reading

New Puppy: What’s in a Name?

My sister-in-law just bought a beautiful, cuddly and absolutely adorable 7-week-old golden retriever puppy for my nephew. This is a momentous occasion in his life because he’s wanted a dog for as long as he could say dog. He loves to play with ours (we have five of them), but they have never been in a position to have a dog before. What To Believe? Fans Duped By Britney and Kevin?

Nor have we heard a peep out of either parent regarding the birth of their now six-week-old son. So, why should we have believed that this … Continue reading

It seems Catholic parents still favor the names of the great men and women of their faith. With five children, a fellow mom and member of our church, says the key consideration in naming her children was a good patron saint. It’s no surprise that her first two sons … Continue reading
