Let’s Talk About Safe Herb Usage in Pregnancy

Many women use herbs during pregnancy in a supplemental way, as well as to prevent mild complications such as edema (swelling due to fluid retention). It is important to understand that the quality of your herbs depends on two things: Freshness and Source. The source of your herbs should be reliable, which involves doing research not only on the herb itself, but the manufacturer as well. Freshness is obvious: the fresher the herb, the better the quality. Which is why growing your own herbs is always the freshest option (and then you will also know the source). Jumped by Pickpockets

Everyone traveled all over the world in my office. Three of my colleagues had told me of incidents they had experienced with pickpockets in Paris. I was in Paris at least once a month and I was careful, or at least I thought I was. During this time, my wife, two of our grown children, and I flew to Paris from Houston. In those days, we had a lot of frequent flyer miles. We arrived early in the day and checked into our hotel. We immediately set out to see the sights. Holy Cow! Safe Cleaning Products!

I’ll admit it. I am a skeptic when it comes to “natural” cleaning products. My mom spent many year of her life cleaning, not only as her job, but after seven children as well. She taught me everything I know about cleaning things properly. When I have a question on how to get the stains out of my shower curtain or carpet, I call her. She is an expert. Her house is immaculate, and always has been, even through seven children! … Continue reading

Shower Time: Switching from Baths

My six-year-old daughter, Samantha just started taking showers instead of our usual bath routine. I knew she was ready, because I had taught her how to wash her hair and body. She did it well on her own after some time. We also have a bar on the shower wall that she can hold onto if she feels she’ll fall. The bottom of the tub is covered with a grip-type covering to reduce the risk of falling. How do you know when your child’s ready to have shower time? 1. They wash and rinse their body and hair thoroughly. 2. … Continue reading
