Snow Day Fun With Stained Glass JELL-O

There are snowy days, and then there are SNOWY days. The latter is what we’re dealing with today. Many portions of my state are incapacitated due to the Blizzard of 2009. Needless to say, we haven’t left our home all day… and now cabin fever is setting in. My kindergartener was beyond thrilled when she first learned that school had been cancelled, but after making Christmas cookies all morning, she’s getting … Continue reading

The First Snowday!

The wintery flurries we experienced yesterday have overnight turned to a wintery wonderland. We have our first snow day of the season. If being anxious for Christmas wasn’t enough, my kids are about to get a huge surprise. I can hear them just beginning to stir upstairs, and in a few minutes I will hear the shouts for joy. For my daughter, as soon as she pops out of bed and sees the surprise, she will run down the stairs declaring that Christmas is here and that we must put up the tree immediately. Looking out of our windows is … Continue reading

SNOW DAY FUN!

Is there anything better than a snow day? An unexpected day off from work spent with my family is tops in my book. We had a feeling that today would turn into a day at home when we pulled into our driveway yesterday only to be greeted by several inches of fresh powder. After a night of freezing rain we found that daycare had been closed so we promptly called out of work and crawled back into bed for another hour. I served waffles and sausage with syrup for my two beautiful girls and put out a plate of fresh … Continue reading

SNOW DAYS!

Kids get ready for no school!” I remember growing up and having a few blizzards where when my sisters and I awoke, the brightness from the reflection of the snow made us jump up and get dressed with all of our snow suits, hats, gloves; and spend hours upon hours playing outdoors in the snow! Of course our parents couldn’t understand the quickness it took us to load on three layers of clothing but how we always got to school late living … Continue reading
