“American Gladiators’” Mom has Her Daughter’s Twins

If the world didn’t known them from their appearance on NBC’s “American Gladiators” then this next move might just give them an extra 15 minutes of fame. Or at least it will give their newborn twins some serious press. When “Gladiator” contestant Kendra Sirignano was searching for a surrogate to carry her child she didn’t have to look very far. Her 52-year-old mom, who always said she would do anything for her daughter, volunteered for the job. And just a few days ago Crystal Sirignano delivered her own twin grandchildren, a boy and a girl. According to reports, the siblings … Continue reading

Word has it Angelina Jolie is still pregnant, but the soon to be mother of twins is minus a job today. According to reports, the female half of Brangelina will no longer be the face of St. John knitwear. The actress’ three-year deal with the company has expired and execs with the fashion house say they are moving on without her. “Three years is a long time to maintain any campaign, and we felt it was time to do something new and different,” St. John’s chief executive officer recently told reporters. Four different up-and-coming fashion models will reportedly replace the … Continue reading

Celebrities Seeing Double

It looks like we may never know why Dennis Quaid decided not to sue the hospital responsible for employing the medical techs who nearly killed his newborn twins last year. Then again, actions often speak louder than words. It wasn’t until just recently that the actor spoke about the horrific incident with a reporter from the Los Angeles Times. In the interview he refused to answer questions regarding pending litigation that has been filed against the makers of heparin, the blood thinner that was inadvertently administered to Quaid’s newborn’s in massive doses. Rather, the actor said he wanted to focus … Continue reading

Legislation for Twins in the Classroom

As many of you know, Valorie is a mother of twins. I too have twins in my family. A few days ago, Valorie was generous enough to send me a link to an article about either keeping twins together or separating them in school. I know from my family’s experience that deciding which to do is a big decision. However, I was completely surprised to find that a law was needed to address the issue. The number of twins and other multiple babies born each year continues to increase. Part of this increase is contributed to women being older when … Continue reading

Twins Magazine – Magazine Review

One of the first things I did, once I found out I was expecting twins, was to order Twins Magazine. Twins Magazine has been around since 1984 and is published six times a year. The magazine focuses on multiple births, not only twins but triplets and even higher. I was so grateful to find a magazine geared toward multiples. I had a four year old and had learned a lot about parenting through other parent magazines. But those magazines didn’t cover twins. I didn’t know anyone with twins. I wasn’t sure I could manage two infants at the same time. … Continue reading

One on One Time at the Grocery Store

For a few years, we traded off on which of our three sons got to come on the weekly trip to the grocery store with me. Now they are bigger and aren’t so interested. Sometimes my oldest will come with me if I’m going to the “big store” because he enjoys looking at the gourmet foods and exotic produce. And sometimes my 4th grade twins will want to go to make sure that I buy enough “real food”. Real food according to them is chips and cookies, not things to make dinner with. I loved having one on one time … Continue reading

Have Mercy on the Twin Moms!!!

If you’ve ever done this or are guilty of doing it I will state up front that I forgive you. While I realize not all MOMs (mothers of multiples) are like me, I belong to a few forums for twin mommies and I have to tell you that the majority of us. . .well, we are. Especially those of us who are watching twins and other children at the same time. As shocking as it may seem, we don’t love all the attention that comes with taking the twins out in public. In fact, when moms of multiples see each … Continue reading

Celebrity Baby News—The Truth Revealed

Prior to getting pregnant, “Desperate Housewives” star Marcia Cross told a number of entertainment publications that she longed for kids for years. Now she is the mother of 2-month-old twin girls and says she couldn’t be happier. But, that’s not all she is revealing. The actress recently posed for a multi-page spread in PEOPLE magazine and “opened up” (see: spilled her guts) about how she’s head over heels in love with her new daughters Eden and Savannah. In addition, she finally revealed the information many tabloid reporters were clamoring for prior to the double birth—how she conceived the two fair-skinned … Continue reading

Celebrity Updates: New Babies and New Beginnings

GIRL POWER! They may have arrived two months early, but by all accounts, they are doing very well. I’m referring to the fraternal twin daughters “Desperate Housewives” actress Marcia Cross gave birth to two days ago. According to news reports, the girls named Eden and Savannah were born at a Los Angeles hospital without any major health problems. The girls are the first children for 44-year-old Cross and her 49-year-old stockbroker husband. The couple married last June and now, less than nine months later, they have successfully doubled the size of their family. Frankly, I was a bit shocked by … Continue reading
