Getting Fit With Video Games

The newest concept in getting fit is with video games and it appears to be a success. The Nintendo company has managed to find a way to play games, have fun and get people up and moving all at the same time. Challenging people to many activities has gotten people to play the games often in order to perfect their score. After all, who doesn’t want to be the best? This boils down to more movement and less sitting. Hey, however you have to get people motivated, right? In this new form of exercise, video exercise, you control the movements … Continue reading

Creating a Family History Video

A Family history video is a great way to share your family history with others. This is a unique thing to do, but it can be even more meaningful to your family. It also gives you the opportunity to see what people looked like, and what they sounded like. This may not work as well for family that you do not have any footage of, but you can still do it. Ken Burns managed to put together great documentaries on people who were no longer alive. First you should examine all of the information that you have available to you. … Continue reading

Are Your Pets on YouTube?

When Wayne bought me my new digital camera last Christmas, I knew it spelled trouble for Murphy, Mr. Meow and Tabby. Because not only could I take pictures without having to hassle with film anymore (which freed me to snap, snap, snap as many pics as I wanted), I could also take video. An Amateur Pet Film Maker Is Born I had such high hopes that I could capture Mr. Meow doing his maestro show on the air vent or the cats chasing each other, but so far no luck. I quickly found out what a tricky business capturing pets … Continue reading

Yahoo Buys Video Service, Layoffs and More

Despite the issues surrounding a possible hostile takeover by Microsoft, the slumping Yahoo is actually spending money, to the tune of $160 million. Yesterday, the search engine giant completed a transaction to acquire the online video service, Maven Networks, Inc. Microsoft’s bid of more than $40 million, or $31 per share, was rejected by Yahoo, although now it seems that Yahoo may actually agree to the takeover, provided that Microsoft’s price is right. An asset manager of Legg Mason, Yahoo’s biggest shareholder, wrote a letter to investors saying that Microsoft would have to be closer to $40 a share to … Continue reading

Do You Need A Wedding Videographer?

I’m sure you know what it’s like to walk into a room just after someone has revealed the punch line to a hilarious joke. People are rolling on the ground cracking up and you’re left wondering what you missed. I feel the same way about looking at still pictures of people doubled over in the midst of a laughing fit. I’m always left wondering what was so darn funny. In my opinion, nothing captures the true experience of being at an event than having life-like moving images… and audio. These are elements that still photography simply can’t match. For instance, … Continue reading

Wednesday Widgets: YouTubeMe

One of the most popular Internet phenomena now has its very own widget! My husband is six years older than I am, and he always tells me that I am from that other generation; the one that embraces all of the new socialization culture of the Internet. But the truth be told, although I am aware of of these cool networks, websites and ways of communicating, I’m slow to embrace them fully. Take YouTube, for example. Sure, I’ve seen a couple of videos here and there, but I never really got attached. Well, thanks to the YouTubMe widget, that fact just … Continue reading

Can You Imagine Creating a Spectacle? It’s hard for me to imagine dancing our first dance to something that’s designed to make … Continue reading

Surf Memories To Last A Lifetime

When I was in college word got around fast that I was from Hawaii. (Probably because I was attending school in Wisconsin.) Looking back it made total sense. After all: Michele + Winter Break = Free Place To Stay In Hawaii. Yes, I did have many friends spend their winter breaks with me in Hawaii, and not one left without pictures of themselves attempting to surf. My college pals weren’t the only ones trying to document their attempts at riding Hawaii’s waves. In most cases I was the designated photographer and often bumped into other friends and family members trying … Continue reading
