Jingle Bell Run/Walk 2009

On December 5, 2009, the Arthritis Foundation is having its yearly festivities with their Jingle Bell Run/Walk. This run/walk will raise money for, of course, those stricken with arthritis. Help them out and raise money so that more research can be done to alleviate this pain and stiffness that they must suffer with. The Fitness Blog Week in Review for February 3 – 9

Good morning and welcome to Saturday. Whew, am I glad it’s the end of the week! I’m tired. Flyer in the Mail We received a flyer in the mail this weekend from our local Homeowner’s Association. They are sponsoring a 1-mile walk and a 5k run. The walk/run is about building … Continue reading

Avoiding A Bumpy Flight

I recently survived a 14-hour plane ride from Wisconsin to Hawaii with my 2-year-old. In previous blogs I’ve mentioned that we make the trip to and from Hawaii on a regular basis so my daughter has learned to handle the long flight better than most adults. Even so, there’s only so much reading, coloring, drawing, playing puzzles, and stinging beads a toddler can take before wanting to get up and dash down the plane’s aisles. So I let her. I’ve tried to tame her running into power walking so as not to disturb the other passengers, but there are times … Continue reading
