The Advantages of a Spring Yard Sale

spring Yard sale, garage sale, porch sale, whatever you call it, having a sale of your not needed stuff is a great way to clear the clutter and to earn some money.

While most people wait until the summer is in full speed, I am here to tell you that now is probably the best time to have your yard sale, if you want to get rid of the most stuff and get the most profit.

After a long winter indoors, people are starting to emerge into the outdoors. They may be looking for something to do as they drive around with their windows open to enjoy the air. Oh look, there is your yard sale sign. And they stop to check it out.

The yard salers are itching to do some shopping. They have had to live without going to any sales for months. Be one of the first homes to satisfy potential shoppers, and you will make a killing. I know I am ready to get some stuff.

Since most people take the spring to clean out and de-clutter but then wait until summer to old their yard sales, your sale in the spring won’t have much competition. People may be willing to travel just a little farther now in the spring to get to your sale than they might when there is a yard sale in practically every neighborhood.

Spring weather can be just perfect for yard sales. It is warming up but not yet too hot. There is no need to avoid going out in the mid-day sun or to spend the day at the pool. Instead, a light jacket and some cash is all that you need to shop a yard sale. Plus, you won’t broil or be tempted to close up early because it is too hot.

The nicer weather may also make it easier to do you cleaning out for your sale. As the spring sun starts filtering in, you may just have a burst of energy to clean out and get organized. I know that spring always makes me more likely to toss out the old and un-used items in our house.

Good luck with your yard sale!
