The Fitness Blog Week in Review Jan 13-19

What a week – a very long week here. I’m writing these weeks in review ahead of time to give myself some down time this weekend so – if you haven’t had some down time recently and find yourself in the need of it – create the time. We all need that down time here and there and I said goodbye to two old friends this week and I am not afraid to admit – that emotionally, I’m tired. So without further ado – here is a quick cool down of our week in fitness.

Saturday, January 13

Great Myths: Smokers Like to Smoke and the simple truth is, they don’t and there are a lot of reasons why. I’m still on my quest to quit smoking and this is another step on my journey.

Sunday, January 14

Dance Baby! My Daughter & Dance, Dance Revolution and did it kick my butt. We played with it last Sunday and a couple of other times this week – my biggest complaint – my feet hurt when it’s done. On the bad news front, a Water-Drinking Contest Results in Death for a mother of three. There will be more on this story later in the week. In the meanwhile, Have You Heard of the Burqini? it’s an neat new swim wear option for Muslim women. Avoiding Injury with Your Yoga Practice and I bet you thought that you couldn’t get injured doing Yoga.

Monday, January 15

We take a long look at two fitness DVDs: Leslie Sansone’s Walk Away the Pounds: Power Mile and Dance Fitness for Beginners: Daily Quickies: 10 Minute Workouts. In Setting Up Special Swimming Pools for Muslim Women we looked at a problem that’s being addressed in New Zealand right now and potentially in other areas of the world. When Your Body Needs a Break – Coming to a Child’s Pose gives some great insights into performing well in your yoga class.

Heather Long is 35 years old and currently lives in Wylie, Texas. She has been a freelance writer for six years. Her husband and she met while working together at America Online over ten years ago. They have a beautiful daughter who just turned five years old. She is learning to read and preparing for kindergarten in the fall.
