The Marriage Blog Week in Review for February 3-9

Good morning, with just four days left until Valentine’s Day, it’s been a very busy week here at the Marriage Blog. We’ve done our best to compile romantic activities, letters of love from readers to their loves and of course, great romantic pairings and more. Personally, this has been one of my all time favorite weeks ever in the Marriage blog and I have had a tremendously good time with presenting my blogs and reading Sherry’s. We hope you have to!

Saturday, February 3

Do something a little different this Valentine’s Day and demonstrate: How do I Love Thee? Start Counting the Ways. Are you interested in Writing Great Love Letters? Then reach into your heart for the words that you need. In Letters of Love: My Wife, My Best Friend is a letter from a husband to his wife and describes how he is honored and delighted with her. In Love Letters: The Legend of Valentine’s we look at the history behind our celebration of Valentine’s Day.

Sunday, February 4

Can You Be Too Romantic? Sherry answers the question and I agree, I don’t think you can be too romantic. In today’s Letters of Love: Forget Me Not a reader describes the love that got away and her words of affection for a man from her past. Successful marriages are not built on total agreement between spouses but in Respecting Each Other’s Views. Love Letters – Are You Looking For Love? so are many others on Valentine’s and it’s a very old tradition.

Monday, February 5

When was the last time you and your spouse enjoyed A Lazy Day to Do Nothing? In Love Letters – Love & Poets meet the Brownings – Robert and Elizabeth Barrett and the beauty of their love story. Love Notes: Say it With Pride because our spouses need to know that not only do we love them, but that we are also proud of them. In Letters of Love: Will You Marry Me? a man proposes to the woman he loves. Love Notes: Do You Know How to Love Him? challenges women to demonstrate their love through tokens of affection and more.

Tuesday, February 6

Today’s Letters of Love: My Parents; My Role Models is a daughter’s love letter to her father in admiration for what her parents demonstrated to her throughout her life. Love Notes: Do Something Different, consider surprising your spouse this Valentine’s and Sherry offers you some great suggestions on how. In Not Feeling Romantic? Wednesday, February 7

Military spouses have it tough and when you’re both in the military it can be harder, so Letters of Love: Run; Don’t Walk Home we read a letter from a soldier to his military wife. Do you wish you had a Remote Control for Your Marriage? I certainly have! Planning Romance is something we all wish we had time to do. Love Notes: Do You See Cupid in the Stars? We’re going to a planetarium to watch a starry show for Valentine’s, what are you doing?

Melissa, the Christian blogger joins us for a guest blog that details My Thoughts on Development and Maintenance of Marriage.

Friday, February 9

Letters of Love: Rendering Aid today’s letter is from a military medic’s wife who got engaged on September 11. Marriage in the News: Seriously? This is one of those stories you have to read to believe – I did and I wrote about it and I still find it hard to believe. Finally, our last look at romances in history for the week took in the story of the Lindberghs, Charles and Anne Morrow in Love Letters: Flights of Romance.

Heather Long is 35 years old and currently lives in Wylie, Texas. She has been a freelance writer for six years. Her husband and she met while working together at America Online over ten years ago. They have a beautiful daughter who just turned five years old. She is learning to read and preparing for kindergarten in the fall. A former horse breeder, Heather used to get most of her exercise outside. In late 2004, early 2005 Heather started studying fitness full time in order to get herself back into shape. Heather worked with a personal trainer for six months and works out regularly. She enjoys shaking up her routine and checking out new exercises. Her current favorites are the treadmill (she walks up to 90 minutes daily) and doing yoga for stretching. She also performs strength training two to three times a week. Her goals include performing in a marathon such as the Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness or Team in Training for Lymphoma research. She enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience through the fitness and marriage blogs.
