The Week in Review – September 16-22

Welcome to our Week in Review for the Baby Blog. There were a lot of great articles written and with so many out there to choose from, it’s always good to have one place to go through and sum up the baby blogs for the last week. Let us know which story you enjoyed the most.

Saturday, September 16

We talked about Support for Single Moms and how we have so many single mothers out there trying to do their best possible to care for their children. We talked about Piercing a Baby’s Ears and how when it comes to ear piercing we’ve done this for a thousand years. We talked about What Are Heartbeat Monitors and how it can bring tears to your eyes the first time you hear your baby’s heartbeat. Valorie brought us more details on Breast Feeding and Diet Myths: The Truth About Breastfeeding and Weight Loss.

Sunday, September 17

We talked about Lactose Intolerance – Can Your Toddler Suddenly Develop It? Sometimes, after stomach flu your toddler may develop a lactose intolerance, that doesn’t mean they are that way permanently and there are things that you can do. We talked about Toddlers: Copy Cats by Nature and how our children are natural copycats and why they use this ability. Renee explored Tips for Living with Postpartum Depression and how some mothers struggle with this drastic change of hormones. She also offered Tips for a Perfect Nursery including how the coloring of the room is not necessarily the important thing. Did you know that Impulsive Children – Whimsy is a Part of Childhood and why our kids as for crazy things? Did you know that Increasing your Milk Supply through Galactagogues is possible? Yes, don’t say that word too many times fast.

Monday, September 18

Toddler Talking Tips discussed the front row seat that parents have for the transformation of their baby to a little person. Valorie tackled the topic of Why You Won’t Catch Me at a Nurse-In. Renee offered some information on Choosing a Pediatrician and how you want someone that will provide the best care possible. There were posts covering Properly Cleaning the Baby’s Bottle and Camping with a Baby.

Tuesday, September 19

Breast Cancer Awareness month is coming up in October and Valorie offered Breastfeeding Can Reduce Your Risk of Breast Cancer. Renee talked about Why Are Boy’s Circumcised as well as Tips for Locating a Pediatrician whether you are asking friends, family members or getting a referral from another doctor. We also explored Birthday Traditions from Around the World in honor of our multitude of parents and families in the worldwide community.

Wednesday, September 20

One of the top stories for this day was a Happy Ending to the Newborn Baby Kidnapping and the story of Stephenie Ochsenbine being reunited with her newborn baby girl. Renee offered some information on the confusion parents have in the Truths and Myths about Vaccinations. There were articles on the Scoop on Poop as well as Baby and the Jealous Dog – many homes have one, if not more dogs when they bring a baby into it and there is a period of adjustment your canine family members have to go through when it comes to the new addition.

Thursday, September 21

Valorie offered some Sound Baby Advice … if you were living in a different time period. Valorie also talked about The Essential Ring Sling and Why it’s Essential. Renee tackled Alcohol Consumption and Pregnancy and the controversy over how much is too much. Renee also explored Babies and the Hepatitis B Vaccination as well as the Baby Immunization Schedule and how new parents need to be up on what the required schedule is for this year.

Friday, September 22

Renee discussed Why is My Baby Yellow? She also offered more information In Support of Natural Birth as more and more women are choosing to have a natural birth at home or at a hospital. Renee also discussed Taking Prenatal Vitamins and how that helps your baby and your body when you are pregnant. In a bit of a humorous take on the week, My Dog Ate My Sunglasses & Other Fun Stuff and all the crazy things we get to say and discuss after we have kids or pets or both!

Heather Long is 35 years old and currently lives in Wylie, Texas. She has been a freelance writer for six years. Her husband and she met while working together at America Online over ten years ago. They have a beautiful daughter who just turned five years old. She is learning to read and preparing for kindergarten in the fall.
