Travel Deals for LEGO Lovers

My 8-year-old is obsessed with LEGO Friends.  I too am quite fond of the popular plastic building blocks, though I appreciate them far more when they aren’t stabbing the bottom of my feet.

Wouldn’t it be great to have a huge area dedicated solely to the construction and demolition of LEGO masterpieces without worrying about having your feet branded?  A place where kids can let their imagination soar while being inspired by gigantic one-of-a-kind LEGO structures?

That’s exactly what can happen when you travel to LEGOLAND in Carlsbad, California.  But, now, instead of just touring the enchanted theme park, you can also stay at the world’s first LEGOLAND Hotel.

On April 5, 2013, a mega-LEGO resort will open adjacent to the famous amusement park located in San Diego’s North County region.  It will feature 250 LEGO-themed guest rooms, with a choice of floors dedicated to three popular LEGO lines: Pirate, Kingdom or Adventure. Each room includes two separate sleeping areas, with a queen-size bed for grown-ups, and a separate area for up to three children, complete with a bunk bed, pull-out trundle bed and separate flat-screen television.

The inaugural LEGOLAND hotel also includes themed elevators and play areas, a buffet restaurant and heated swimming pool, all located at the main entrance of the LEGOLAND California theme park. LEGOLAND Hotel guests also receive entry to select LEGOLAND rides and attractions before the park officially opens, in order to give you more bang for your buck.

If you need more financial incentive to stay at the new hotel, guests who visit between April 8 and June 20, 2013, will be offered a money-saving “Kids Stay & Play Free Package.”  The deal includes two 2-day Child Hopper tickets and complimentary breakfast for two kids.  You will be allowed to choose from a 2-Day LEGOLAND/SEA LIFE Hopper Ticket or a 2-Day Resort Hopper Ticket which includes admission to LEGOLAND California, SEA LIFE Aquarium and the LEGOLAND Water Park. Rates start at $231 per night, plus tax.
