Twenty One Weeks

It was at this point in my first pregnancy that the weeks started to fly by. With my first pregnancy I was so excited and anxious to birth my son that I did not take the time to savor the beauty and wonder of my pregnancy. I am determined not to let this pregnancy slip by without contemplation or appreciation; I am really trying to enjoy every moment of this pregnancy.

At twenty one weeks I am really trying to limit my sweets. Sweets have always been my weakness. It is usually easier for me to just avoid desserts altogether than to limit my intake. If anything in my diet is worthy of being removed, it is most definitely the sweets, but it is so hard sometimes to say no!

At twenty one weeks I am definitely feeling a lot more movement from our precious baby girl. I can feel her flipping and twisting and kicking! The movement of a tiny human in utero is such a wondrous feeling (which is one thing I really missed about being pregnant!)! Most of her movements are not particularly visible but her movements are strong!

At twenty one weeks I have found the energy to hang art in our house (finally) and I have also begun several new art projects: a painting of a ballerina, a painting of a guitar, a smaller painting of ballet shoes, and a black and white drawing of the upper half a guitar. I think this is the most art projects I have ever had going on at once, but I have several others waiting to be done too!

At twenty one weeks my belly is becoming more obvious especially when I am standing (I still have the “beer belly” look when I sit). I am still using the belly band and hair ties on my pregnancy bottoms and I pulled out a few maternity tank tops. Other than that, a large portion of my wardrobe is pre-pregnancy clothes … I am trying to put off wearing exclusively maternity clothes for as long as possible!

Week twenty one is going really well!
