Two Cost Free Ways to Get Your Home Ready to Sell

sell your house My real estate friends tell me that it is not impossible to sell a home in a short period of time, it just depends on the home. Still, with the housing market the way that it is, you don’t want to spend a lot of money getting your home ready for the market, but you don’t want it to sit out there forever being passed over for other houses that are also for sale.

Use some smarts and a little elbow grease to make your home stand out among all the rest of the housing inventory, and do it for little to no cost.

Clean That House

Okay, let us start with the bulk of the elbow grease. Make sure your home is spotless from top to bottom, including the baseboards. It is critical that the kitchen and bathrooms are super clean. Even a little bit of dust or dirt in these areas can turn buyer off to the whole house. For best results, you might want to consider paying for a cleaning service to come in do a professional cleaning job.

Make the Rooms Seem Bigger

You want your potential buyers to think they that are getting a real bargain, much more space than they are paying for. The fastest way to do this is to have a well-organized and clutter-free home. Don’t think comfortable, think spacious. Remember that you aren’t supposed to be living in your home, just showcasing it. Having this attitude (even if you are really still living in it) will help you in your task, especially when it comes to removing personal items.

Clean out the garage to make sure it looks like it can actually fit cars in it, clear up the laundry room, store extra furniture and toys, add a couple of nice looking mirrors and do what you can to add additional visual space to your home.
