Ebook: How to Design a Blog for Free: A beginner’s guide to creating a professional design on a budget.
By: Jacinda Vandenberg
Cost: $4.99
Book Summary:
In it, I explain in complete detail every step it takes to create and install your own customized headers, buttons, banners, Facebook covers, photo tabs, eBook covers, social media icons – as many things as I could possibly think of!
I’ve included visuals for each step, and made the installation process a painless ordeal by providing codes you can simply Copy & Paste. You don’t need Photoshop or any other expensive tools since everything is designed using a free, online photo editor.
My Thoughts:
You may remember some time ago an ebook that explained how to use Picnik to redesign your blog. It was a great ebook, also by Jacinda, but sadly Picnik shutdown and while it did not make the book useless with all the other editing sites online, it did date the book a bit. So, Jacinda decided to write another book detailing how to create a blog design on a current editing site, PicMonkey. PicMonkey is very similar to Picnik. In fact, many Picnik fans are discovering this easy to use online photo editor. The only real difference is that PicMonkey is free and does not have storage capacity. I dare say it may have some better options like a Facebook Cover collage and more. The ideas in Jacinda’s new book can be incorporated using FotoFlexor, Ipiccy, and other online photo editors as well.
The book is about more then graphics. It also covers HTML for making 2-column ads, grab boxes and more. It gives you all the tools you need to make a basic blog design. If you check out Jacinda’s blog, Growing Home, you will see how much this book can do for your site. She created her entire site using her techniques covered in How to Design a Blog for Free.
