Week Twenty Eight

The weeks are starting to fly by now. At twenty eight weeks, I am officially in my third trimester! With twelve weeks to go, I am feeling anxious for the birth of our daughter while also feeling the need to “cling” to my pregnancy. I only have twelve more weeks to enjoy this pregnancy and I know that I will be holding my baby girl before I know it.

My mind is in planning stage especially for the holidays. I have Thanksgiving and Christmas on my mind as I am trying to plan pie baking, Christmas shopping and gift making, and decorating the house for the holidays. I know that we will be getting a real tree this year and I feel like we are going to need to rearrange the living room and dining room for the Christmas Season. All of which needs to get done before the baby comes in mid to late December.

As I think of all the treats that will be in our future (hopefully I will find the strength for moderation), I have put my exercise routine into high gear this week by exercising all seven days. While I am sure I can maintain my five day commitment, I am also going to try to add an extra day or two of exercise for the remainder of my pregnancy. I have found this especially helpful as my body continues to change … exercising really helps with the discomforts that come with the progression of pregnancy.

During week twenty eight, the baby has continued to be extremely active, which is a very good thing. It puts my mind at ease when she has extended periods of movement through out the day and night. She is fairly predictable in her sleep and awake cycles. I am also fairly certain based on her movement patterns that she is head down. At our last prenatal visit the midwife checked the baby’s position and it was indeed head down. I am just hoping that she stays that way for the next twelve weeks!
