Which Stars Didn’t Get Married This Weekend

Scott “You-can-call-me-Cachi” Baio and Howie “I’m-a-Backstreet-Boy” Dorough did it, but there are some Hollywood celebrities who decided not to tie the knot this weekend—-most notably Nick Lachey.

And it wasn’t just the tabloids that predicted the ex-Mr. Jessica Simpson was going to exchange vows with his girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo. FOX News claimed the couple—who have been dating since April 2006–planned to make it legal in a secret ceremony in the Bahamas over the weekend.

Turns out (at least according to Lachey’s rep) that the news organization made up the entire story. The 34-year-old former boy bander was reportedly not anywhere near the sunny locale. Rather, Lachey’s rep says his client was in Ohio working on the NBC reality TV show “Clash of the Choirs.”

As for Lachey’s former wife, well, she didn’t spend the second weekend of December getting hitched either.

Former “Newlywed” star Jessica Simpson filed for divorce from Lachey in December 2005 after three years of marriage, and is now cozying up to Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback Tony Romo, but the couple are not man and wife despite rumors to the contrary.

Simpson and the NFL star are reportedly in the “beginning stages” of their relationship and if you watched TV on Sunday you would know that Romo didn’t spend the weekend walking down the aisle with the blonde bombshell—he was too busy trying to pull out a win against Detroit.

Finally, you can add “American Idol” judge Simon Cowell’s name to the still single list. The acerbic Brit is denying reports he is a newly married man. And he’s also speaking out about rumors that he split with his long-term girlfriend Terri Seymour over his decision not to have children with her.

Reports of the split came after the 48-year-old made it clear to the media that he doesn’t want to start a family because his “career is too important.” That annoucement was reportedly news to his live-in love because shortly after word got out that Cowell didn’t want to father children Seymour announced she was considering ending their relationship over the matter.

But, now, Cowell is insisting they aren’t going to break up any time soon.

He recently told British newspapers, “She knows the lifestyle I have with work. I can’t see me slowing and I can’t see it changing. I’ve not been given an ultimatum. I’m assuming it’s a way off.”

How far off?

“I don’t think it’ll be happening next month. I don’t know if she’ll leave me. I think she’s happy. We get on fine,” Cowell said.

He didn’t convince me… what about you?

I also don’t think Cowell’s rumored infidelity with Dannii Minogue, an Australian singer and television personality (the pair was pictured holding hands in a taxi) is helping control reports of a Seymour dumping.
