Who Do You Think You Are? Live

If you love the genealogy – themed television show, “Who Do You Think You Are?”, you might be interested in knowing that there is a live conference in February, in London, called “Who Do You Think You Are? Live”. The event is sponsored by the Society of Genealogists, Ancestry.co.uk, and other vendors. It is a three day event, beginning on Friday, February 22, 2013.

If you happen to be in London that weekend, you may want to check out some of the conference’s many workshops, exhibits, performances, and attractions. For example, people from The National Archives will be presenting information on the conference topic of migration as well as information about how people can access information in the National Archives for their own genealogy research. The conference offers a rare opportunity to book a twenty minute appointment with a genealogy expert, who can give you some advice on how to proceed with some of your toughest genealogy challenges. There are experts available who know all about United States, Eastern and Western Europe, and other areas as well as very specific topics like adoption and military.

Another fun conference event is the Who Do You Think You Are? Celebrity Theater, where a couple of the celebrities who have been featured on the show will be talking about their experiences and genealogy adventures. The two Celebrity Theater events are wildly popular, and appear to be sold out. There may be a few tickets left for lucky conference attendees on the day of the event.

Other exhibits and presentations include information about DNA and genealogy, military genealogy, a photography gallery and learning area, and more. If you are lucky enough to be in London in late February, this is one event that you just might have to make room for in your travel itinerary.
