You Are What You Eat

You know the old saying that you are what you eat? Well it is truer than you might think. Obviously we know that the healthier you eat, the healthier your body will be. If you feed it with junk, then your body stands at greater risk of breaking down.

So if you want to look younger and feel younger, then feed your body with things that will make it look and feel better. As we get older we notice more and more changes in our body. Women tend to want that aging progression to slow down more so we might try creams and exercises that will help.

However, there are also certain foods that can help maintain our beauty as well. Check out the Top 10 Beauty Foods that are age-fighting ways to combat some of the typical issues we deal with as we get older.

I honestly didn’t realize how much different I look now in my early 40’s than I did when I was in my 20’s until just the other day. I was watching an old video of my now 16-year-old son when he was having his 1st birthday party. When I saw myself back then, a part of me almost grieved for what I no longer am. I mean, I enjoy being 40 and I feel pretty good and my husband says I look great. But let’s face it; I’m not the same woman.

Growing older is natural and so a part of us really does have to learn how to accept that. At the same time we don’t have to just give up and let ourselves go. I’m so thankful that there are a number of ways to age with beauty. We have more control over that then we sometimes like to admit.

So the next time you are picking up something to eat, ask if that is what you want to be. Do you want to be that lumpy, jelly-filled donut? Or would you prefer to be that slender carrot?
