Is there any better Christmas gift than a healthy baby born just hours before the most celebrated day of the year?
How about two healthy babies born to the same family just a few hours apart during the height of the holiday season?
In what’s being called one of the most incredible Christmas surprises since the Immaculate Conception, a mother and daughter, plus twin sisters are marveling at the timing of their respective labors.
In Chicago, 35-year-old Jessica Rotter was lending moral support to her 17-year-old daughter, Briana Guerrero, as the teen prepared to give birth at a suburban hospital on Tuesday. However, shortly before Briana pushed out her son, Rotter went into labor.
According to the Chicago Tribune, less than six hours after the birth of her grandson, Rotter gave birth to her own son in an adjoining hospital room.
Guerrero’s son, Ayden, weighed in at 9 lbs., 9 ounces, while his uncle, who was born two weeks early, came into the world at 7 lbs., 10 ounces.
“In 20 years of practicing, I’ve seen a lot,” Dr. Alex Lipowich, who delivered both babies, told the Chicago paper. “I’ve certainly had mothers and daughters pregnant at the same time or in the same year. But I have never delivered a mother and daughter combination on the same day, and I can’t believe that’s very common.”
Perhaps even more uncommon is the event that took place in New Jersey at nearly the same time on Tuesday as Rotter and Guerrero’s deliveries.
Twenty-three-year-old twin sisters Danielle and Nicole Fisher, each gave birth to their first child in adjacent rooms at a local hospital.
Both sisters delivered boys, born just 12 minutes apart.
The twins say the unbelievable occurrence was as jaw-dropping to them as it was to hospital staff.
According to USA Today, Danielle was due to give birth last week, while her sister Nicole wasn’t due for another two weeks.
However, fate stepped in and at 7:43 p.m. on December 20th, Danielle pushed out baby Jonathan. Then, roughly 12 minutes later, Nicole delivered her son, Maximus.
“Who gets to go through something like this with your twin sister?” Danielle told the paper. “We have done everything together our whole lives.”
Still, the twins’ deliveries were not identical. Danielle labored for more than 20 hours, while Nicole’s delivery took less than 20 minutes.
Regardless, the Fisher home will be a haven of celebration this Christmas since the unmarried twins live in the same house with their parents.
