Cheddar Biscuits
Perfect accompaniment to a seafood casserole.
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups unbleached flour, sifted
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
1/4 cup butter
2/3 cup milk
DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 450F. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together, then mix in grated cheese.
2. Cut in butter, then add milk and mix quickly but thoroughly to form a soft dough.
3. Turn onto a floured board and knead lightly for a few seconds.
4. Pat dough out to a thickness of 3/8 of an inch and cut out 8 biscuits.
5. Place on baking sheet and bake 30 minutes or until lightly browned.
