Social Love?

In ideal situations, marriages are built around love. They are not prearranged or set-up based upon social status, political views, or financial means. To be success and healthy they should be built on pure and honest feelings.

However, as we all know, not everything in life works the way that it was designed or meant to happen.

While I am on a roll of discussing favorite movies, such as in my last article discussing Serendipity, I will throw another all time favorite out there Legally Blonde.

In this movie, Elle is told that she is not the type of girl that a law student needs neither in his life nor in his prominent family.

The same goes for the Princess Diaries. Thankfully in both movies, true love prevails.

I think that these types of pressures to create the ideal family and relationships exists quiet often in life. Some couples I believe marry and stay together due to social love.

Social love is a term that I have created to describe those couples that are together because they feel that it is proper for them to be together.

For example, during the days of the Clinton affair and presidency, do you think that Hillary really feels okay with what happened and that the couple shares a strong loving bond? Or do you believe that the two stay together due to the power of the couple? Would it be wise or as accepted by the public for the two to be on their own and titled as “divorced”?

I think that many political figures hold this same view. They feel that they would lose some of their clout with society were they to show that they could not hold on to their marriage.

Therefore they stay together more in a type of business deal rather than a marriage.
