Fashion Files: Celebrity Jewelry

She started off as a no name reality TV star, but in the course of a few short years “The Hills” Lauren Conrad has added fashion designer and face of Avon’s mark Cosmetics to her list of achievements.

Now Conrad is giving you a chance to make a difference in the life of a young woman in need and look fashionable at the same time.

The MTV star has designed a vintage looking charity necklace. The Have a Heart pendant sells for $22 and all money raised from the sale will benefit the Girls m.powerment Campaign, with a full 100% of net proceeds from each sale going directly to the group.

Conrad revealed that the inspiration for her design came from a vintage necklace she saw at an estate auction. The chic neckpiece is described as “understated with a little detail to it.”

I wonder what Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen would think of Conrad’s new piece?

I get the feeling they would rather focus their attention on their own brand new jewelry line.

The designing duo has teamed with famed jewelry designer, Robert Lee Morris, for their newest adventure in fashion. (The sisters already have a multi-million dollar fashion empire, featuring their hugely successful Elizabeth and James Line.)

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Morris’ name he is a leader in the industry and was recently honored with a Lifetime Achievement Awards at last year’s CFDA Fashion Awards, and has created pieces for everyone from Calvin Klein and Donna Karan to Karl Lagerfeld during his forty year-plus career.

The Olsens and Morris have reportedly put together more than 80 pieces for the new jewelry line, including cuffs, earrings, necklaces and rings made from silver and antiqued brass. Prices for the pieces will range from $65 to $700 and will hit Intermix stores nationwide in September.
