Jake and the Never Land Pirates

Jake and the Never Land Pirates first aired this past February. Quickly it became the #1 preschool show for and the most co-viewed series on the network. You have to love a show that 45% of moms are watching alongside their children. You can count me in as one of those 45% of moms. When the show first came out I was disappointed it was not around when my son was still watching Disney Junior. Both of my older children loved the Disney Junior shows when they were of preschool age. Now my younger two watch some of the Disney Junior shows. We are not a TV heavy family and appreciate shows that are properly geared toward children. To my delight, Jake and the Never Land Pirates continues in this tradition and appealed to my two younger girls. My three year old little pirate dances and sings along while wearing her Jake and the Never Land Pirate shirt and eye patch. She insists she wants to be Izzy when she “is bigger like Izzy”. Today she changed her mind and wanted to lead while her sister was Izzy and her brother was Cubby. The show is just precious and enjoyable enough to moms to watch!

If you are unfamiliar with Jake and the Never Land Pirates it appears daily on Disney Junior at 8:30-9:00am EST. The show is filled with music performed by Sharky and the Bones and fun treasure hunts. The cute characters, Jake (the leader), Izzy and Cubby work to solve problems as a team as they outsmart none then Captain Hook and Mr. Smee.

One thing my kids look forward to every year are Christmas shows featuring their favorite characters. This year they will enjoy spending a little time in Never Land with the new holiday episode called A Winter Never Land!/Hood On Ice. Jake, Izzy and Cubby wake up to gifts left by Peter Pan to celebrate Winter Treasure Day. To top it off Captain Hook invites them on a winter treasure hunt. Tune in Friday, December 2nd (8:30-9:00am, ET/PT) on Disney Channel.
