Joan Rivers Gets The Boot From The Red Carpet—AGAIN!

Well, at least she won’t have to worry about finding the right dress…

It’s half-true. The irreverent Joan Rivers will NOT be yukking it up on the red carpet tomorrow night preceding the Emmy Awards.

Rivers and her daughter Melissa have been staples on the red carpet for years, but alas, it seems their reign has finally come to an end.

According to the New York Post, after the TV Guide Channel dropped the comedienne and her daughter, Rivers desperately tried to get chummy with former employer E! in hopes of making a comeback there.

The official word from E! execs: No deal.

Instead, Carson (“Queer Eye”) Kressley and E! News hostess with the mostess (and newlywed) Giuliana DePandi, who has officially changed her name to Giuliana Rancic (cough, wheeze), will be taking over red carpet duties Sunday night.

“How dare they! It’s just mean and wrong. Are they out of their minds?” Rivers reportedly raged to the Post.

According to a newspaper source, the instant Rivers found out that Ryan Seacrest was hosting the Emmys she called E! to see if she and her daughter could do the red carpet for them. Execs at the cable channel reportedly had no desire to hire Team Rivers and that’s when Joan, who credits herself for putting E! on the map during the network’s early days, “flipped out.”

“Let’s get real here, “ Rivers whined. “I started it. I did it.”

Never one to let others stand in her way, Rivers plans to liveblog the event from her own apartment. The acerbic former talk show host says the insults will be flying. In fact, Rivers tells the newspaper she’s excited about her new venture.

“They’ve set up my apartment like a war room. I have free rein. I can say, ‘She looks like a slut.’ I can say, ‘I think he’s gay,’ or this one’s nasty or terrific. It appeals to me.”
