Saving On A Roman Holiday

The end is in sight. The stores are packed with back-to-school items and the sun is setting before FOX’s late news comes on. Sadly, summer is coming to an end. That’s the bad news. The good news is that if you are looking to travel abroad the change of seasons is the perfect time to grab a great deal.

Travel deals to Italy abound right now. The catch: you’ll have to wait until fall to take off. On the bright side, by traveling during autumn you avoid the sweltering heat and summer crowds.

The following getaways to Florence, Venice and Rome start at around $670 and include airfare and hotel accommodations.

Florence From $669

If you are itching for a dose of Old World charm consider setting your sights on Florence and the picturesque crown of Tuscany. Virgin Vacations is offering an early-autumn trip to Florence that starts at just $819. The travel steal covers airfare from New York and four-night lodging at the Palazzuolo Hotel located in the middle of the city. The deal also includes daily continental breakfast. The special rate is available between September 10th and October 31st. Don’t think you are getting much bang for your buck? You will once you find out that the price of the trip is currently listed at $1220 for summer travel. If you want to save even more consider taking advantage of the late-fall departures, after November 9. The price for the deal then dips to $669.

Italian Trio from $995

I’m not talking about the lasagna, spaghetti and ziti combo at your local Fazoli’s. If you want to see Italy’s classic city trio in on one trip check out this travel deal from European Destinations. The company is offering fall travel deals to Rome, Florence and Venice from just $995 for a six-night stay. The price includes airfare from New York (or your departure city of choice for an fee extra; for example, if you depart from Los Angeles the price jumps to $1190); hotel accommodations in each city (you choose between more than two dozen properties in each destination); daily breakfast; and Eurostar rail tickets between the destinations.

Enjoy la dolce vita!
