Shopping with Grandma and Grandpa Part IV

After selecting several articles of clothing for my daughter, my mother-in-law and moved on to looking for some clothes for my son, which was surprisingly more difficult than shopping for my daughter. Since jeans were a must, I set my attention on scouring up all the different styles of jeans. The perfect pair was a straight fit jean in a darker wash with a dragon embroidered on the left pant leg (my son is currently fascinated with dragons). Much to my dismay they did not appear to have his size, but the saleswoman was able to track down a pair in his size from one of the window displays (thank goodness!). At my mother-in-laws urging, I also selected several pairs of socks (one pair that had the same dragon embroidered on it, my son was overjoyed!), a white oxford shirt (very classic), some flannel/thermal long sleeve shirts, and pair of gray mini skinny jeans too! Once my son and grandpa rejoined us, my son was really excited about his dragon themed clothes! With our very large back of children’s clothing in hand, we followed my father-in-law to my favorite adult clothing store where he had selected several pairs of dress pants for my husband. He had the sales woman set aside a couple shades of taupe (traditional khaki color in my book) and gray with an additional pair of chords to cater to my husband’s more casual sense of style. My mother-in-law and I then turned our attention towards some versatile “dress shirts” that could be easily dressed up or down. I had my eye on some updated blue and white oxford shirts (the same style as we had gotten for my son in the children’s store). My mother-in-law liked the look of these sturdy cotton shirts but thought that my husband would need some nice cotton sweaters to wear with them. We found just the thing she had in mind, some cotton v-neck sweaters that mimicked the wool version that I had bought for him last year! Both my mother-in-law and father-in-law seemed pleased with our choices. We finished our shopping trip with grandma and grandpa with a ride on the Christmas themed train and a dish of gelato! It was a good day!
