Help, I Hate Breakfast!

Breakfast does not have to include eggs, bacon, cereal, oatmeal or any of the traditional breakfast fair. Breakfast has always been an especially challenging time for me because I dislike most breakfast foods. If I never ate a scrambled egg again I would not miss it. In fact, I would rather just skip breakfast all together and be happy with my cup of coffee. I have tried to convince myself that with enough creamer my cup of coffee is actually an energizing breakfast smoothie. Somehow I never quite convinced myself of that theory. So I started my quest for breakfast food I could tolerate. After realizing that foods I thought of as breakfast but could tolerate would soon cause me to gain large amounts of weight I had to be more specific in my quest. One cannot eat Pop Tarts, donuts, huge bagels with cream cheese, and muffins and expect to stay thin or full. So my quest was modified to breakfast foods I could tolerate that would not cause me to go up 10 dress sizes in 10 days.

After much research…okay not much but after diligently trying to stomach something upon waking from my slumber I came across things I could eat. I hope this helps all those who cannot stand to eat breakfast in the morning.

Tolerable Breakfast Foods:

Special K Chocolatey Delight: I love this as a snack also!

Oat Revolution: Now, I dislike oatmeal. I mean I dislike it a lot. However, I was determined to find one I could eat and Oat Revolution is not only inexpensive it is very good.

Bagel Sandwich: Bagels are not the best thing for you but if you stick to a normal size one instead of the giant ones you are used to seeing, it should be fine. I add lean mean and low fat cheese. If I am feeling energetic I melt the cheese for a special treat. Whole wheat bagels are a nice substitution also.

Leftovers: There is nothing wrong with having leftover dinner for breakfast. Just give yourself slightly smaller portions without forgetting the veggies.

While I wish I could just skip this all together or eat a donut and run, this list will have to do. Besides, I have noticed that I feel better when I eat a balanced breakfast. It’s not just a myth that breakfast is the most important meal of the day!
